Pantry Fly Repellant

Dried tansy flowers were traditionally sprinkled on pantry shelves to deter flies.

Hop Pillow

Typically used in the brewing of beer, hops are also known for their soporific properties; thus, the popularity of hop pillows.

Ingredients

2 or 3 handfuls of dried hop flowers - crumbled
Muslin

Make a muslin bag to fit inside a small pillowcase and fill It loosely with the hops so that it lies flat beside your regular pillow.

All-purpose Insecticide

Make up this insecticide for spraying on any plant plagued with caterpillars, aphids or flea beetles.

Combine equal quantities of dried spearmint, chopped onion, garlic and steep in enough water to cover. Leave for 24 hours, strain and spray!
